Hi! I’m Melanie Malone Surman, the founder and artist behind Melanie Malone Art.

Art has always been a key part of my life. While in college at Elon University, I minored in Studio Art and that is when I really dove into my passion to create a brighter world through art.

In 2021, during the covid lockdown, I created an instagram to showcase my work. The support from my friends and family pushed me to continue creating art and posting.

I am the kind of person that cannot sit still, so when I am not creating art, I enjoy playing tennis, golf and running half marathons.

I also enjoy traveling, cooking, curating outfits and finding the best happy hours. I now reside in Dallas, Texas with my adorable puppy, Cowboy.

When I am creating new pieces, I often see a vision in my head, create a mood board of items, colors, and textures, and just see what comes to be. For commission work, I really try and understand the essence of my client to ensure I can incorporate their personal style within the work.
